SERBIAN-AMERICAN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Serbian-American Leadership Academy is a research and educational unit of the SAFC Center for American Studies, established to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on U.S. politics, the democratic system and its values, the U.S. legal system, U.S. economics, U.S. history, culture, education, religion, and other key issues related to the United States.

The Academy will place a special focus on analyzing current American politics, both domestic and foreign, contemporary phenomena and processes, with particular emphasis on the analysis of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.

The goal of the Academy is primarily to educate participants, who will, upon completion, gain essential theoretical and practical knowledge about the most important issues related to the U.S. and its functioning. With this comprehensive understanding, participants will be equipped to better understand and analyze current issues, phenomena, and processes occurring not only in America but also globally.

Grand Opening of the Seventh Cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy

At the grand opening of the seventh cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy, participants were addressed by Congressman Tracey Mann of the U.S. House of Representatives and Mr. Vladimir Marinković, President of the Serbian-American Friendship Congress. Mr. Marinković also delivered a lecture on the module "U.S. Politics and Legal System."

Congressman Mann emphasized the importance of investing in young generations to guide them with the right values in their future endeavors. He highlighted the need to improve relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States, noting that countries committed to democratic principles and freedom should stand together.

Lecture II:

U.S. Economics

In the second lecture of the "U.S. Economics" module for the seventh cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy, Mr. Vlajko Senić addressed the participants. He highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship for the U.S. economy, presented statistical data on GDP growth and other key segments, and discussed the role of the administration and its agencies in budgetary decisions and economic initiatives. The lecture also covered the U.S. economy's share in the global economy, its presence in the global stock market, and contemporary challenges facing the U.S. economic system.

Lecture III:

U.S. Military

On July 9, 2024, Mr. Zoran Jolevski delivered a lecture on the topic of "U.S. Military" as part of the third lecture in the seventh cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy. The discussion focused on the U.S. military budget, its management, and the history of its development. The impact of the U.S. military on international relations, its branches, and its influence within the U.S. were also examined, including cooperation with countries in the region.

Lecture V:

Culture, Society, and Lobbying in the U.S.

On July 11, 2024, Mr. Milan Antonijević addressed the participants of the seventh cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy. He highlighted important aspects of American social, cultural, and political life, as well as the functioning of lobbying groups within the U.S. political system.

Lecture VI:

The Impact of Religion on U.S. Politics

On July 15, 2024, Mr. Samuilo Petrovski delivered the final lecture of the seventh cycle of the Serbian-American Leadership Academy. The discussion focused on the significant impact of religion on daily socio-political life in the U.S. and its integration within American institutions.
